Event: Internet Browsing, Searching and Safety

Designed for new users, this course will provide you with the basic concepts required to search and explore the World Wide Web using popular search engines and sites. Students will learn how to use the Internet Explorer interface and use the Favorites, History and Links features to return to frequently visited sites. Students will also be shown saving, printing, downloading, Internet Explorer’s web privacy tool and Offline Browsing options. They will also learn how to secure their online browsing. Prerequisite: Basic computer concepts/skills and knowledge of Windows. NOTE: Bring a computer device to class. Instructor: University of Alberta Technology Training Centre. Location: Smoky Lake County Office Starts: Saturday, March 5 1 session 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon Registration Fee: $50 Includes handouts. Minimum 6 registrants. Workshop Confirmed.
